Plans reveal new homes above Forbidden Planet in Grade II listed Leeds city centre building
Plans have been drawn up for new apartment in the Grade II-listed building
Flats could be created in vacant office space above shops in a historic city centre building.

Plans have been drawn up for seven apartments in a Grade II-listed building on the Headrow in Leeds.
The site, above science fiction shop Forbidden Planet and opposite the Three Legs pub, would be converted if planning permission is secured.
A design report said: “The application site occupies a highly sustainable location within the commercial core of Leeds.
“Access to services, employment opportunities, retail facilities and public transport is readily available within walking distance.”
The report said demand for city centre offices had declined due to a growing trend towards remote and hybrid working.
The report by CRL Architects said: “As a result, many upper-floor office spaces within historic commercial buildings in Leeds and further afield have become under-utilised or vacant.”
Six one-bedroom and a single two-bed flat would be created at the site, built in the early 1930s.
The report said: “The scheme has been developed with careful regard to the architectural significance of the listed building and its contribution to the wider historic townscape of The Headrow.”
Leeds City Council is considering a full planning application which is out for consultation until July 15.
