£850k adventure playground set to transform historic Leeds estate for families
Children will enjoy a new adventure playground at a historic Leeds estate after an £850,000 contract was awarded.
Leeds City Council appointed Greenspan Projects Ltd to design the new facility at Lotherton Hall.

Climbing frames and swings will be installed as part of the project to boost visitor numbers to the Edwardian stately home.
A council report said: “The playground design is accessible and inclusive so children of all ages, backgrounds, interests and abilities can enjoy playing together.”
The report said almost £700,000 was allocated for the construction of the playground, along with a further £150,000 for other costs including surveys and new paths.
Some 958 people responded after a public consultation was held, the report said.
The council hoped the new attraction would boost income at the site’s existing cafe and shop.
The report said: “The playground is intended to improve the family visitor offer at Lotherton and contribute to an ongoing programme of investment works at the site to ensure visitor numbers and related income are maximised and retained.”
A planning report said the playground would be divided into five areas, Birdwatch Tower, Squirrel Tower, Deer Park Rangers and Troop Camp.
It said: “This revitalisation of this underused area will greatly improve the overall amenity of the space.”
