Vacant Leeds restaurant could be transformed into all-day café and late-night bar
A former restaurant and takeaway could be turned into a drinking venue
A former restaurant and takeaway could be turned into a drinking venue if plans are agreed with the council.

Permission is sought to convert the vacant Chef’s Restaurant site on Harrogate Road in Chapel Allerton.
The venue would open as a cafe and restaurant during the day and a bar at night if Leeds City Council approves the proposal.
The building is opposite the Three Hulats Wetherspoon pub and a Lidl supermarket.
Planning permission would allow a change of use to a drinking establishment with expanded food provision.
An architect’s report said: “Our client is intending to operate during the daytime as a café and restaurant, opening from 8am, transitioning into a bar with a food offering in the evening until midnight.”
A single-story extension to the rear of the building is proposed as part of the project.
Old decking would be removed from the front of the building and a tiled shopfront installed.
The report said: “The building is currently vacant and not contributing positively to the street scene.”
Improving the dilapidated building would help reduce anti-social behaviour affecting the parade of shops, the report said.
It said: “The proposed enhancements to the rear of the property will reduce the opportunities for crime by providing security and a more attractive outlook.
“The site will generate at least two equivalent full-time jobs in the first instance, and possibly more once established.”
The change-of-use planning application is out for consultation until August 5.
