The Fox, in Thorner, east Leeds, will serve drinks until 12.30pm at weekends after changes to its licence were approved.

The pub on Main Street applied to add an extra hour to its serving hours on Fridays and Saturdays.

One objection was received from a nearby householder who raised concerns over potential noise disturbances.

But Leeds City Council approved a variation to the premises licence after measures were agreed with the police.

Star Pubs, which runs the premises, said the Fox would comply with licence conditions to prevent public nuisance.

Its licence application said: “We are seeking an extension to the terminal hour to provide the premises greater flexibility in its trading hours and to allow customers to continue their evening in a safe and enjoyable environment.”

The application was due to be heard by a licensing sub-committee at Leeds Civic Hall on Tuesday.

The hearing was withdrawn after agreements were reached with the council and West Yorkshire Police.

A council spokesperson confirmed that the application was granted, subject to conditions.

The Fox will continue to serve alcohol until 11pm, Monday to Thursday, and 10.30pm on Sundays.
