Plans submitted to demolish buildings in Leeds city centre’s Lisbon Square
Buildings at Lisbon Square in Leeds are set to be demolished.
McLaren (34 Lisbon Street) Limited has submitted a determination for demolition application outlining plans to demolish buildings at Lisbon Square in the city centre.
The application, verified by Leeds City Council on January 5, concerns four vacant buildings between Skinner Street, Lisbon Street, and Wellington Road.

According to the planning application, demolition is scheduled to start on January 19 and is expected to take two months to complete.
The application states that the purpose of the demolition is to “accommodate a new-build residential development”.
The area has been subject to several new developments over the last few years.
Plans for a new multi-use development on the site of the former Leeds International Swimming Pool, which previously occupied Lisbon Square, are also in the pipeline.
The £200 million project is anticipated to provide two high-rise towers offering both residential and commercial accommodation, and is expected to be delivered by Marrico and Helios.
Further details on the proposed demolition can be found on Leeds City Council’s planning portal.
