Disruption expected as Yorkshire Water completes emergency sewer repairs in Otley, Leeds

A contraflow system is currently in place

Emergency sewer repairs are taking place in north Leeds.

Residents are being warned to expect disruption as Yorkshire Water completes an emergency repair on a sewer in Otley.

A contraflow system is currently in place at the junction between Pool Bank New Road and Leeds Road A660, near the Dyneley Arms, while the works take place.

“We’re working as quickly as we can to complete the emergency repair and subsequent reinstatement,” a Yorkshire Water spokesperson said. “The contraflow system is in place for the safety of our colleagues and road users.

“As soon as we can get traffic flowing as normal, we will, and we thank everyone for their patience in the meantime.”

Additionally, two-way lights are in place approximately 300m down Pool Bank New Road to facilitate movement of tankers, which are supporting the sewer repair and preventing impact on the environment. The lights will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm.

This work is unrelated to the ongoing mains replacement in the Pool area, in which clean water pipework is currently being replaced on Arthington Lane.
