Full bus diversions and road closures as Abbey Dash 10K returns to Leeds

The Leeds Abbey Dash 10K is set to return on Sunday, November 30, with participants of all ages and abilities taking to the streets of Leeds for the return of the much-loved race.

The 10K route will see participants set off from the city centre, and out to the historic Kirkstall Abbey, before heading back to the centre for the finish, where they will receive their well-earned medal.

Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, event organisers are now advising the public that a number of the town’s roads will be closed or have access restricted to ensure the safety of all those taking part. Here’s a full breakdown of the disruption...

What roads will be closed?

Roads affected by the closures include: Aire Street, King Street, Park Place, Quebec Street, Queen Street, Thirsk Row, Wellington Street, York Place, Northern Street, A58 Slip Road, A65 Abbey Road, B6157 Kirkstall Lane, A6157 Bridge Road, A65 New Road Side, Abbey Walk, A65 Commercial Road, A65 Kirkstall Road, Willow Road, Viaduct Road, Canal Road, Burley Place & A58 Westgate.

Roads affected by the parking suspensions include: Park Place, York Place & Quebec Street.

When will roads reopen?

The event will require the closure of a number of roads and road junctions, as well as the suspension of Traffic Regulation Orders between 4am and 3pm on Sunday, November 30. It will also require parking suspensions from 6pm on Saturday, November 29 to 3pm on Sunday, November 30.

Roads between New Road Side and Bridge Road/Kirkstall Lane are scheduled to reopen between 11.30am and 11.45am, while roads between Commercial Road and Kirkstall Road will reopen between 12pm and 12.30pm. Roads in and around the city centre will be reopened for 3pm.

What bus services will be diverted?

The following bus services are likely to remain in place from the start of service until approximately 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

4, 4F Pudsey – Tong Road – City Centre – Harehills – Seacroft Bus Station

• A normal route to Armley Gyratory then diverting via A58 Inner Ring Road, West Street slip road, Westgate, The Headrow and Park Row to resume a normal route at Boar Lane.
• Misses: Wellington G & I, City Square A.
• Catch from: Civic N, City Square I, Trinity R, Corn Exchange G, Cultural B & D.
• Towards Pudsey
• A normal route to Infirmary Street then diverting via East Parade, The Headrow, Albion Street, Woodhouse Lane, Clay Pit Lane and A58 Inner Ring Road to resume a normal route from Armley Gyratory.
