Full bus diversions and road closures for Christmas lights switch-on events in Leeds including Morley

Starting this week Christmas Lights switch-on events, plus Santa & Reindeer parades are due to take place in town and villages across Leeds.

Towns such as Farsley, Cross Gates and Morley will all be playing host to Christmas events this week, which will see a number of routes closed.

Here’s a full breakdown of events and subsequent disruption...

Farsley, Christmas lights switch on at Old Road, Town Street, Calverley Lane, Andrew Square, The Green, Bagley Lane and Charles Street on Wednesday, November 26 from 5pm to 8pm.

• 16 diverting via Bradford Road, Dawsons Corner, Ring Road Farsley, Rodley Roundabout, Rodley Lane, Bagley Lane and Coal Hill Lane in both directions.
• 16A diverting via Bradford Road, Dawsons Corner, Ring Road Farsley, Rodley Roundabout and Rodley Lane in both directions.

Cross Gates, Christmas event at Austhorpe Road on Thursday, November 27 from 4pm to 10pm.

• 11 diverting via Penda's Way and Barwick Road to terminate/start from Church Lane.
• 11A diverting via Ring Road Cross Gates, Barwick Road, Penda’s Way and Manston Lane in both directions.
• 40 diverting via Ring Road Cross Gates, Barwick Road and Stanks Lane South in both directions.
• 56 diverting via Ring Road Cross Gates, Barwick Road and Eastwood Lane in both directions.
• 64 diverting via Barwick Road and Church Lane in both directions.
• 164 and 165 diverting via Manston Drive and Church Lane.

Drighlington, Drigmas event at Station Road from 12pm Friday, November 28 to 8pm Saturday, November 29.

• Possible delays to service 425 during the event.

Morley, Christmas lights switch on at Queen Street on Saturday, November 29 from 11am to 9pm.

• 47, 51 and 52 diverting via Corporation Street.
• 200 towards Leeds will wait at Wynard Drive (45011081) if safe to do so, then divert via Corporation Street, Fountain Street and High Street to resume normal route. If the bus stop on Wynard is blocked it will wait time on High Street or Magpie Lane, whichever is safer.
• 200 towards Heckmondwike will wait at Chartists Way (45011077) then divert via Corporation Street and Wynard Drive to resume normal route.
• 201 towards Heckmondwike will wait at Fountain Street, Weavers Close (45011054) then turning left towards Batley and Heckmondwike.
• 201 towards Leeds will wait at Chartists Way (45011077) then divert via Fountain Street and resume normal route at Middleton Road.

Wetherby, Christmas Market at Market Place on Saturday, November 29 from 10am to 9.30pm, Sunday, December 14 from 6am to 6pm and Thursday, December 18 from 6pm to 10pm.

• Possible delays to services 7, 412, 874, 923, X70, X98 and X99 during the event.

Guiseley, Christmas lights switch on at Town Gate and The Green on Sunday, November 30 from 9.30am to 8pm.

• A3 to Bradford resuming normal route to Guiseley Morrisons, then diverting via White Cross Roundabout, A65 and Park Road to normal route.
• A3 to Leeds Bradford Airport/Otley resuming normal route to Guiseley Morrisons then diverting via White Cross Roundabout, A65 and Leeds Road (A65) to normal route.
• A3 will miss Guiseley Railway Station, Church Street and Aireborough Centre stops in both directions.

Rawdon, Christmas lights switch on at Harrogate Road on Tuesday, December 2 from 5pm to 9.30pm.

• 34 and A1 diverting via A65 Leeds Road, A65 New Road Side, Green Lane and A658 Harrogate Road in both directions

Horsforth, Christmas lights switch on at Town Street on Saturday, December 6 from 9am to 8pm.

• 50 and 50A towards Horsforth a normal route to Church Road then diverting via Fink Hill and Ring Road Broadway to Horsforth Roundabout.
• 50 and 50A towards Leeds from Horsforth Roundabout diverting via Ring Road Broadway and Fink Hill.

Otley, Victorian Fayre at Kirkgate, Westgate and Beech Hill on Sunday, December 7 from 8am to 9pm.

• A3 to Otley operating a normal route to Pool, terminating at Shell Garage.
• A3 to Bradford starting from Pool and then resuming normal route.
• Stops missed to Bradford – Otley Bus Station, Otley Asda, Otley Cemetery, Gallows Hill, Otley Garden Centre, Moor Drive, Old Pool Road, Caley Lodge and Pool Business Park.

Pudsey, Christmas lights switch on at Lowtown, Manor House Street and Waver Green on Sunday, December 7 from 10am to 10pm.

• 4 and 4F towards Pudsey a normal route to Lowtown then diverting via Kent Road, Valley Road and Robin Lane (4F route) to Pudsey Bus Station.
• 4 and 4F towards Leeds a normal route to Church Lane then diverting via Robin Lane, Valley Road and Kent Road to resume a normal route at Lowton.

Headingley, Santa Dash event at Headingley Lane and Headingley Stadium on Sunday, December 7 from 1.30pm to 3pm.

• 19 and 19A resuming normal route to Burley Road then diverting via Burley Road, Kirkstall Hill, Kirkstall Lane and Queenswood Drive in both directions.
• 23 and 24 from 1245-1500 diverting via The Headrow, Park Lane, Burley Road, Kirkstall Hill, Morris Lane, Spen Lane, Butcher Hill, Ring Road and Otley Road in both directions.
