Full list of road closures and event timings for Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026

Thousands of runners are expected to descend on Leeds next month as part of the fourth annual Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon.

Over 13,000 participants are expected to take part on Sunday, May 10, in the hugely popular event that was established to honour the rugby league legend.

In co-operation with Leeds City Council, key routes will be closed for the duration of the event. Here’s everything you need to know...

Where and when will the event start?

Starting at 9am, the marathon will start and end at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium, with runners following a circular route that initially winds around Woodhouse Moor before striking out for Adel, Lawnswood, Bramhope, Pool in Wharfedale and Otley.

The Leeds Half Marathon, which is also take place from 10am on May 10, will use much of the same route.

Who does the marathon raise money for?

Delivered by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All in partnership with City Council, the 2026 Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon promises to be one of the most inspiring events in the city’s sporting calendar - with runners are encouraged to fundraise for a charity close to their own hearts.

Event partner charities include Leeds Hospitals Charity, MND Association, Leeds North and West Foodbank, Candlelighters, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Happy Days, Macmillan Cancer Support, My Name’5 Doddie, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, and St Gemma’s Hospice.
