King Lane, Leeds faces full road closure as work continues to fix burst water main
The road will be closed from Monday
A busy route in Leeds is set to be closed from Monday.
King Lane, Alwoodley (LS17 7AR), will see a full road closure and diversion come into effect from 6am Monday, May 11 until Tuesday, May 12.
The closure will allow for Yorkshire Water to complete repairs to a burst water main, which has led to two-way traffic lights being installed.

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “Our contract partners M Group are working as quickly as we can to repair the burst. For the safety of our colleagues and those living and working in the area, we need to close the road on Monday, whilst we complete the repair and following reinstatement.
“We appreciate that this will be disruptive and would like to apologise and thank everyone for their patience.”
From 6am Monday, a signed diversion will be in place via Alwoodley lane, The Avenue and also a local traffic diversion route on King Drive and Birkdale Avenue housing estate, to rejoin King Lane off the junction with Nursery Lane.
This has been agreed with the highways team at Leeds City Council to best accommodate the local elections taking place today and facilitate King Lane as a designated alternative travel route during the Rob Burrows Leeds marathon that takes place on Sunday, May 10.
The road will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.
