Full signed diversions and road closures as Dawsons Corner revamp moves to next stage

The next stage of closures at Dawsons Corner will get underway next week.

Motorists using Dawsons Corner in Leeds will be hit by new diversions next weekend.

Road users are advised to plan ahead for Friday, April 24 to Monday, April 27, when the phase of works will require significant traffic management changes and road closures.

To enable the setup of this phase, the following fully signed vehicle and pedestrian diversions will be in place throughout the weekend:

  • Bradford Rd (B6157) eastbound lane closure (20 April to 24 April) in the run up to the weekend.
  • Full weekend road closure: Ring Road (A6120), Farsley and Bradford Road (B6157).
  • Two-way traffic routes remaining open: Bradford Road (A647) and Stanningley Bypass.
  • Access maintained: New Pudsey train station and Owlcotes Shopping Centre.

The works form part of the wider £44 million revamp of the Dawsons Corner roundabout and is aimed at speeding up journeys, reducing air pollution and improving safety.

Construction began in May 2025 to upgrade the key junction, which connects the A647 Stanningley Road and the A6120 Ring Road, and is due to be completed by early 2027.
