The final phase of works on a crucial route from Headingley to Leeds city centre are continuing to gather pace.
Work on the final phase of the A660 Woodhouse Lane and Cliff Road got underway in June and is on track to be completed in Spring 2027.
Plans for the scheme were originally proposed in 2023 and, once completed, it is hoped that the revamp will improve bus reliability into and out of the city centre, while reducing road deaths and serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Leeds City Council said: “During this phase, Cliff Road will become one-way southbound to motor vehicles, with a banned right turn out onto the A660.
“Rampart Road will have a right-turn out ban, and Clarendon Road will have the left-turn out banned for drivers.”
It is hoped that these restrictions will help improve safety, especially for pedestrians and cyclists, and help with the efficiency of traffic at the junction of Clarendon Road.
