Lawnswood roundabout surfacing works rescheduled after wet weather causes delays

Surfacing works at a busy roundabout in Leeds have been delayed.
The final surfacing programme at Lawnswood roundabout, scheduled for Thursday night, could not go ahead as planned due to wet weather.
As a result, these works have now been rescheduled for tonight (Monday, September 7) with surfacing expected to be completed by early Tuesday morning.
“A further closure on Tuesday night remains available as a contingency should it be required,” the Leeds City Council-run team at Connecting Leeds confirmed.
The works will see Lawnswood roundabout closed, between 7pm and 6am, tonight. Pre-arranged diversions will remain in place.
Major upgrade works, aimed at improving safety for drivers and all road users, have been underway at Lawnswood roundabout since August 2025.
