Leeds Bradford Airport issues warning after technical issue causes flight chaos across the UK

Leeds Bradford Airport said it is “working with airline partners” to resolve the issue

Update: Leeds Bradford has confirmed that two Ryanair flights, a KLM flight, and a Jet2 flight have all been cancelled.

There are ongoing delays as the airlines recover their service and Leeds Bradford Airport has thanked customers for their patience.

Leeds Bradford Airport has advised passengers to check before they travel as a “technical issue” has caused hundreds of UK flights to be delayed or cancelled.

Departing flights from airports nationwide have been majorly disrupted today (August 8) due to an air traffic control issue.

Because the technical issue is connected to National Air Traffic Control Services, multiple airlines are affected, including EasyJet, Jet2, and Ryanair.

A spokesperson from Leeds Bradford Airport said: “The air traffic control service, NATS, is experiencing a technical issue which is impacting flights at airports across the UK, including at LBA.

“Passengers are advised to check with their airline for the latest flight information.

“LBA is working alongside its airline partners to ensure customers are on the move before close of day.”
