Full list of trains cancelled at Leeds City Station after fire in Wakefield causes chaos

Passengers are facing major disruption on the rails today 🚨

Trains to and from Leeds City Station are facing delays and cancellations as a fire near the tracks in Wakefield causes major disruption.

Rail networks have previously advised passengers to avoid travel if possible due to the latest heatwave. Temperatures are expected to hit 34C in the city today (August 13), after surpassing 30 degrees yesterday (August 12).

However, for those who still need to travel by train and simply can’t put the journey off until cooler weather returns, passengers are being warned of major disruption this afternoon. A fire at Wakefield Westgate station has resulted in trains being delayed or cancelled to and from Leeds.

On its website, National Rail warns: “A lineside fire at Wakefield Westgate station has meant that all lines have had to be closed for safety reasons.

“Whilst the emergency services attend the incident, trains are unable to run through the station. As a result, services will be cancelled, revised or diverted.”

The disruption is currently expected to last until 6pm, but that could change. We will be updating this article with a list of all of the cancelled trains to and from Leeds City Station.
