Live traffic updates as 'serious incident' on A1(M) and M62 near Leeds cause morning disruption for commuters
Disruption has been faced on the motorways this morning for those commuting to and from Leeds.
The A1(M) southbound was closed between junctions 40 and 41 for the M62 and Pontefract respectively in the early hours of the morning due to a serious, police-led incident.

The road has since reopened but there are residual delays being faced.
West Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that the road was closed after reports of a woman’s body in the carriageway.
A spokesperson said: “Roads policing officers attended the scene where they located the woman who had significant injuries consistent with having fallen from a nearby bridge.
“She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital where her injuries are understood to be serious but not life threatening.
“The road was re-opened shortly after 7:30am.”
Meanwhile, drivers on the M62 have also faced disruption due to a collision near junction 26 of the eastbound motorway, which has now been cleared.
Currently there is congestion between junctions 27 and 28.
