Trains cancelled between Leeds, Bradford and London after LNER overhead wire damage
Travel disruption continues across the East Coast Main Line this afternoon following earlier overhead wire damage, with LNER confirming key cancellations between London, Leeds, and Bradford
Rail passengers traveling between Leeds, Bradford, and London face travel disruption today after an object caught in overhead electric wires caused major delays on the East Coast Main Line.
Network Rail engineers have cleared the blockage between Doncaster and Retford, allowing lines to reopen.

However, due to displaced trains and rolling stock out of position, a series of services remain cancelled throughout afternoon.
Passengers are advised to check live departure boards before heading to the station.
Cancelled LNER Services (August 15):
- 1:10pm London Kings Cross to Leeds (due 3:21pm)
- 3:40pm London Kings Cross to Bradford Forster Square (due 6:21pm)
Passengers holding tickets for any of today's cancelled services can use them on the immediate preceding or following LNER service without needing to rebook.
If your journey is delayed by 30 minutes or more as a result of today's disruption, you are entitled to compensation through LNER’s Delay Repay scheme.
Claims can be submitted online via the LNER app or website with a photo or scan of your ticket.
Further live travel updates are available via National Rail Enquiries and official LNER social channels.
