On its online traffic map, the AA explains: “All lanes stopped and stationary traffic due to crash on M62 both ways from J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield) to J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor).”

It adds that there are “severe delays and increasing” on both the eastbound and westbound carriageways. Lane closures are in place on both sides as well, according to Highways England.

There are currently, at the time of writing, delays of 20 minutes on both sides of the motorway. The disruption is expected to continue until around 3pm, but that is just an estimation from Highways England.
