M62 traffic: Drivers face ‘severe’ delays heading into Leeds - with queuing traffic
Commuters who are travelling on the M62 towards Leeds are facing ‘severe’ delays this morning.
Emergency repair works further back towards Brighouse were initially causing disruption on the eastbound side of the motorway. However, closer to the city, there are very lengthy delays on the carriageway near J27.
AA Traffic maps website explains: “Severe delays of 18 minutes and delays increasing on M62 Eastbound between M62 and J27 M621 (Gildersome). Average speed 20 mph.”
Highways England’s traffic cameras show long queues on the eastbound side of the motorway, with vehicles left standing in heavy congestion.
Over the weekend, two lanes of the motorway were shut due to a serious collision. Pictures on social media showed a vehicle overturned in the aftermath.
