Speed camera warning gadget down to £27 and saves drivers from 'points on licence and insurance hikes'

A clever gadget that alerts drivers to speed cameras and helps avoid speeding tickets has been reduced to under £27 and has been described as a “no-brainer” and “amazing”.

The price for a double pack of OOONO Co-driver No.1 devices has been reduced to £54.78 on Amazon, bringing the price of each one down to £27.39. For one-car households, a single device currently costs £29.85.

One driver who left a five-star review on Amazon called the device “amazing value” for motorists, saying: “Excellent product, works really well, detects a camera well in advance, allowing you to slow down before the camera if necessary.

“A noise sounds when it detects a camera. Very easy to link your phone to the device once you have downloaded the app.

“Once it’s linked, you stick the device to your dashboard and that’s it, you don’t even have to remember to turn it on, it will recognise your phone and beep to tell you it’s working, then as you drive the alarm will sound.

“Amazing value at £30, it could save you points on your licence and insurance hikes. It’s a no brainer.”

One motorist described it as a “money saver”, in their review, stating: “Very good gadget to have in your vehicle, does exactly what it says. Highly recommended.”

There is a criticism of the OOONO No.1 according to one motorist who says: “It connects instantly, works without having to get my phone out, and the alert volume can be adjusted. My only criticism is that some alerts seem to come a little too early.

A top tip for buyers of the device is to also get a Yosh magnetic phone holder in which to mount the OOONO. It has been described as “the perfect size for the OOONO” and is currently £7.99 on Amazon here.

Alternatively, Halfords is offering the Tom by TomTom road-alert assistant that warns drivers of fixed and mobile speed cameras, heavy traffic and other road hazards. No app subscription is needed for the device. Find out more here.
