Stanningley Bypass set for next round of overnight road closures as contraflow system lifted
Overnight closures will take place from tonight
The next round of road closures are set to get underway at Stanningley Bypass.
Since July 27, road repairs and resurfacing works have been taking place on the Stanningley Bypass as part of the £44.1m Dawsons Corner improvement scheme.
The works have been scheduled during the school summer holidays, when traffic levels are typically lower, helping to reduce disruption wherever possible.

Overnight closures will take place during the following times.
- Monday, August 24: 8pm-5am
- Tuesday, August 25: 8pm-5am
These closures will allow for essential resurfacing to take place along the major route between Bradford and Leeds, near Swinnow Lane.
Leeds City Council has confirmed that these work will include the temporary flattening of raised road joints at Hough End, which were brought forward after “further deterioration” was spotted. They are set to be permanently replaced next year.
Signed diversions remain in place, although the contraflow system, which has been in place since the end of July, has now been lifted.
