Temporary repairs carried out at Rodley roundabout in Leeds after rats chew through signal box
Temporary repairs have been completed to a signal box at a roundabout in Leeds.
Traffic lights were put out of order at Rodley roundabout in west Leeds on Sunday evening (April 5) after rats chewed through the wiring of a signal controller cabinet.

Leeds City Council has since carried out temporary repairs and the signals are now working again.
“Damage has been identified to the power cable supplying the traffic signals,” an authority spokesperson said. “We are carrying out temporary repairs to allow the signals to operate again, while we engage with Northern Powergrid to arrange a permanent repair.”
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene on Sunday after vermin entered the cabinet and chewed through some live cables causing a fire.
The news was confirmed by Coun Craig Timmins, representing Calverley and Farsley, on social media and he indicated that the old cabinet has also now been removed.
