Excessive speed is among the most common factors when people are killed or seriously injured in crashes - among the ‘fatal five’ causes of deaths on the road.
And residents across Leeds and West Yorkshire can help to tackle unsafe speed through ‘community concern sites’.
If someone is worried about speeding drivers in their area, they can report it to their local council. This will then be considered for a speed monitoring assessment.
A total of 64,195 offences were captured at community concern sites across Leeds and West Yorkshire last year (April 2025 to March 2026) - and over 1,700 Notices of Intended Prosecutions were sent out.
Police teams work alongside West Yorkshire Safety Camera Partnership, which says it aims to encourage safe speeds across the road network and not just where there are fixed or mobile cameras. Camera types can be interchangeable at each location where speeding is a concern, meaning enforcement may be undertaken by a fixed or mobile safety camera at any given time.
Here are its 23 locations of mobile speed camera locations in use across Leeds this week.
