'I swapped the school run for a bus full of dogs'

I swapped driving a bus full of children to giving dogs pawsome adventures 🐾

Forget the school run - there’s a new bus in town and its passengers have four legs, wagging tails and an appetite for adventure.

A new Doggie Bus is hitting the roads in West Yorkshire giving pups their very own chauffeur driven trips to the park.

The new service launched on Monday with ex-school bus driver Lisa Pinardi in the driver’s seat travelling across Wakefield and Mirfield.

Designed to make pet-sitting easier for owners, the service picks up dogs from their homes and then takes them to dog parks around Yorkshire.

Founder Lisa, who lives in Mirfield, was inspired after seeing similar services when on holiday in Florida.

She said: “I thought how can I combine the two – my love for dogs and driving.

“I thought if they can do it in Florida, why not bring it to the UK”.

Inside, the bus has been converted so it has individual seats for each dog.

There are also blankets, toys and treats on board.

Travelling across Wakefield and Mirfield, the bus will pick up the puppy passengers and take them on scenic outdoor adventures, before dropping them back off at their homes.

Morning and afternoon trips are available, with the morning service running from 8am to 11am and the afternoon service running from 12pm until 3pm.

Lisa said: "I want every dog to experience the adventures on The Doggie Bus.

“It's very exciting for us, we can’t wait to enrich furbabies' lives with a trip on it.”

Despite only just launching, Lisa has already seen dozens of enquiries from keen owners and has plans to expand the bus’s route.

She added: "We are getting enquiries from all over Yorkshire. So we will try to accommodate most areas.”

Prices for the service begin at £25 for a trip.

This covers the pick-up and drop-off, numerous photos and the food and water provided.

Discounts are also available for multi-dog households.
