Leeds Bradford Airport: Major delays on Monday morning and flights diverted due to 'obstruction on runway'
There are major delays at Leeds Bradford Airport on Monday morning (June 1) due to a reported obstruction on the runway .
Inbound flights from Bratislava at 7.30am and Liverpool John Lennon at 7.35am were forced to divert away from the airport.
The 8.25am flight from Dublin was also delayed and is now due to land at 10.22am, while the Palma flight at 9.10am was delayed for more than one hour.
One passenger on the inbound flight from Bratislava said passengers had been told the delays were due to a broken down vehicle obstructing the runway at Leeds Bradford Airport.

"They said an obstruction on the runway, and that the airport was closed”, John told The Yorkshire Post.
"We circled for a bit, perhaps fifteen minutes, then diverted to MCR.”
John said he was on his way back from the Champions League Final, so ‘it seemed a fitting end to a desperately sad few days’.
“As soon as we landed, they said the airport had reopened at Leeds and they were sorting out transfers”, he explained.
"Everyone assumed that meant coaches or similar. Then about 20-30 minutes after that, they said they would fly back.
"Flight back took 14 minutes. Very annoying though, two and half hours late, despite actually leaving Bratislava early!”
A flight due to depart to Bucharest at 8.10am is now estimated to be delayed by almost three hours, at 11am.
The Perpignan flight at 9.05am is now due to depart at 10.55am and the 9.40am Palma flight is due to depart at 10.45am.
Leeds Bradford Airport has been contacted for comment.
