Is X still down right now? Twitter status as thousands report ‘posts not loading’ on Downdetector
A major social media platform was down for thousands of users this afternoon.
X, formerly known as Twitter, was beset by outages to start the week. The app’s timeline was not loading, and people were greeted with a ‘posts not loading’ message when trying to refresh it.
Users have rushed to DownDetector to flag their problems with the platform on Monday (February 16). The trouble appears to have started just before 1.30pm GMT, based on when issues started to be reported.
People are experiencing troubles with the app as well as the website. Upon trying to open both the mobile version and on desktop, this reporter had issues with X - at the time of writing (1.45pm).
The main problems appear to be with the feed/ timeline currently. We will update this article with more information as it emerges.
Upon trying to refresh the timeline, users are currently receiving a ‘Posts aren’t loading right now. Try again’ message. While the desktop version is stuck without properly opening.
Update 2.15pm: services are starting to return for some users, however, it is down on mobile and computer for me at time of writing this update.
Update 2.30pm: X has returned to normal on desktop, however, still appears to be some problems with the mobile app.
