Video - Man attempts to break CCTV camera by setting it alight – only for it to be recorded and sent to police
Two men and a woman got into a communal lift in Dagenham, Essex, when one of the men took a lighter out of his pocket and raised the flame to the camera.
The act, which happened on 31 August, damaged the lens of the camera and distorted the image within the lift – but cops were still able to get crystal-clear images of the footage.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police, who obtained the footage, said: “Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man seen in the footage.”
