Flood warning issued in Wyke Beck, Meanwood Beck and Wortley Beck as residents warned to "be prepared"
A warning has been issued in Leeds for flooding following heavy overnight rainfall - with residents told to "be prepared".
The warning has been issued for the Wyke Beck, Meanwood Beck and Wortley Beck catchments.
In an update shortly after 7am on Thursday, the Flood Information Service said river "levels have risen and will remain elevated" following the intense rainfall overnight.
Levels will peak between 8am and 11am, the service said.

Rain is expected to fall until midday before returning this evening.
The service said: "The risk of flooding to low lying land, roads and farmland remains.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and our operational staff have been out checking flood defences and clearing screens of debris.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
This is the only warning currently in place in Leeds.
