Pizza-friendly football tops made from serviette material

Domino's has created 'pizza-friendly' England and Scotland shirts made entirely from serviette material - so fans don't have to worry about getting messy on matchdays.

The shirts, nicknamed the ‘shirtiette’ will ensure fans can wear their stains with pride this summer, and embrace spills during goal celebrations, penalty misses or VAR rage.

Purpose-built from napkin material, woven together for maximum absorption capabilities, the shirts mean supporters don’t have to worry about pizza sauce spillages, topping tumbles or being doused in beverages while watching the games.

The shirts have been endorsed by ex-England captain Terry Butcher and Scotland legend Gary McAllister who put the shirts to the test, with Butcher recreating his 1989 blood-stained image using spilled pizza sauce.

Terry Butcher, who has teamed up with the pizza brand to give away a number of the limited-edition kits to England and Scotland fans ahead of their teams’ games said: “I’ve had my fair share of big red spills on shirts, so I know how messy football can be.”

It comes ahead of the international football tournament starting, which will see England try to beat their last showing where they failed to make it past the quarter finals after losing 2-1 to eventual finalists France. But they had a better result in the European Championships two years later where they made it to the final, before losing to 2-1 to Spain.

This will be England’s first major tournament under the new leadership of Thomas Tuchel after Gareth Southgate – the nation’s most successful manager since Alf Ramsey – stepped down in 2024.

Scotland is also heading into the tournament after qualifying for the first time in nearly 30 years. They will face Haiti, Morocco and Brazil as they bid to make it into the knockout stages – something the team has never previously done before.

Former Scotland international, Gary McAllister, added: “This will be a huge summer for Scotland and I’m sure fans will be going all out for the tournament. We all want supporters to give everything when watching their team and embrace the celebrations that come with it.

“With the help of the Domino’s Shirtiette, each stain is a matchday memory to be worn with pride.”
