Is this the best value laptop in Amazon’s big Spring sale? (aff)

Amazon’s Spring Deal Days event has slashed prices across thousands of tech products, but one laptop in particular is turning heads thanks to a massive price cut. The Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet has dropped from £349.99 to just £149.99 – a huge 57% saving – making it one of the most affordable laptops currently available in the sale.

For shoppers looking for a lightweight machine for work, study or streaming, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet deal could easily be one of the standout bargains of the event. The ultra-portable device weighs just 510g and measures 7.6mm thin, making it easy to slip into a bag or backpack, while its 10.95-inch WUXGA display with narrow bezels gives you plenty of screen space for watching videos, browsing or tackling everyday tasks.

Under the hood, the IdeaPad Chromebook Duet runs on a MediaTek Kompanio 838 processor with 4GB of RAM, which is designed to handle typical web-based workloads smoothly. Battery life is another highlight, with Lenovo saying it can last up to 12 hours on a single charge – ideal for commuting, working remotely or long study sessions.

Unlike many budget laptops, this one arrives with useful extras included. The package includes a folio stand and detachable keyboard so the Lenovo Chromebook Duet can switch between tablet and laptop modes depending on how you want to use it, and it also supports the Lenovo USI Pen 2 for sketching, note-taking and annotating documents.

Because it runs ChromeOS, the Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet boots quickly and focuses on cloud-based productivity. Signing in with a Google account gives instant access to apps like Docs, Sheets and Gmail, while the built-in 5MP front camera includes a physical privacy shutter for video calls.

A bit pricier but still excellent value is the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus, which has dropped from £749 to £459 in the Amazon sale – a 39% discount. This premium Chromebook features a 15.6-inch display, Intel Core 5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, making it better suited for heavier workloads.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus laptop deal also includes Gemini AI productivity tools such as HelpMeRead and HelpMeWrite, which can summarise long articles, clarify complex content and help draft emails or documents with a single key press.
