Finding a meal subscription when you're vegetarian can sometimes feel like paying for a menu where half the choices don't apply to you - but now I’ve found one where I can actually eat everything on offer.

As a vegetarian, I have previously been put off trying any meal subscriptions for one simple reason: I was fed up of looking through menus and realising that I couldn’t eat a lot of the dishes on offer because they didn’t fit my dietary requirement.

So when I came across Grubby, one thing immediately stood out: I could actually eat everything on the menu.

That alone is refreshing. Instead of searching for the vegetarian section hidden among dozens of options, which are often very small and only offer predictable veggie meals, Grubby has built its entire service around plant-based dishes.

In fact, the UK brand was the first fully plant-based recipe box and ready meal company, meaning every choice has already been designed with flavour, convenience and variety in mind for vegetarians like me, and vegans.

What also caught my attention with Grubby is the flexibility the service offers. Some weeks I enjoy cooking from scratch, while other times I want something that involves almost no effort after a long day.

Grubby offers both; customers can choose fresh meal kits designed to be cooked in around 30 minutes or less, alongside ready meals that can be heated in minutes.

The ready meals also sounds more appealing than the type of dish many people think of when they envisage plant-based meals. Grubby says its dishes are chef-made, high in protein and nutritionally balanced, aiming to make convenience food feel more enjoyable.

There are more details and meal options available on Grubby's menu page.

Another reason this one stood out is the focus on variety. I admit that I fall in to pattern of eating the same meals week-in-week-out. When I speak to friends and family, I realise I’m not alone in this.

Grubby meal subscriptions are designed to help people get out of their food ruts. The brand has developed its Plant Points range to help customers increase the number of different plants they eat each week.

Grubby has already gained a loyal customer base. More than 2.5 million meals have reportedly been served and the company has built collaborations with names including BOSH! and Mildreds, helping make plant-based food feel more mainstream and less niche.

As a vegetarian, the biggest appeal of Grubby for me remains simple: I can open the menu and be able to eat every single option - and I genuinely want to. That is enough to make me curious enough to put in my first order.
