Heating up an indoor space without central heating can be a costly business. Electric fan heaters use a lot of energy, and halogen heaters are more affordable, but directional and less powerful. Oil-filled radiators, however, really are a solid option.
We've found one on Amazon, which would be ideal for keeping small spaces warm over long periods. It's on a limited-time deal, ending on January 31, but it's half price if you buy before then.
Sold by Russell Hobbs, the 1,500w seven-fin radiator is just £24.99 at the moment, and that's the lowest price it's been seen at. Its recommended retail price is £49.99, although it does hover around the £40 mark occasionally, according to price trackers.
But at the time of publication, just £25 gets you a small oil-filled radiator suitable for a room up to 15 square metres, with three heat settings and a two-year guarantee.
Oil-filled radiators are good at providing long-term heat, rather than the more intense, focused heat of fan heaters. They take a while to warm up, but they provide more gentle, ambient warmth and they don't dry the air out or make any noise. They're also very efficient.
