Amazon's premium Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition has received a sizeable Prime Day discount, cutting more than £50 from the recommended retail price
Amazon Prime Day has brought a significant discount to one of the retailer's most popular e-readers, with the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition now available for £137.74, down from its £189.99 recommended retail price.
The Prime Day offer cuts £52.25 off the premium Kindle model, representing a 28% saving for Prime members. Anyone considering an e-reader upgrade may want to take a closer look at the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition deal, especially as Amazon's biggest shopping event is known for limited-time discounts.
Unlike the standard Kindle, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition includes 32GB of storage, wireless charging and an auto-adjusting front light that adapts to changing conditions. Those extras could appeal to regular readers who spend hours with books, whether at home, commuting or travelling.
The latest model features a 7-inch glare-free display designed to mimic the appearance of paper, making it easier to read outdoors and in bright sunlight. The Prime Day Kindle offer also includes Amazon's waterproof design, which can provide extra peace of mind around pools, beaches or baths.
Storage is another area where the Signature Edition stands out. With 32GB available, the discounted Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition can hold thousands of ebooks, while audiobook listeners can download large libraries for offline listening through Bluetooth headphones.
Amazon says the latest Paperwhite generation delivers faster page turns and improved responsiveness compared with previous models. Combined with battery life that can last for weeks between charges, the device is designed for readers who want to spend less time plugged in and more time reading.
The adjustable warm light is another practical feature, particularly for evening reading sessions. Users can tailor the screen's appearance to suit different environments, while the higher-contrast display aims to make text appear sharper and easier to read.
As with any dedicated e-reader, there are some limitations. The device is built primarily for reading books, magazines and listening to audiobooks rather than browsing the web or running apps. Shoppers who only read occasionally may find Amazon's entry-level Kindle offers sufficient features for less.
However, for keen readers looking for a larger display, premium features and generous storage, the current Prime Day reduction brings the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition down to £137.74 here, saving £52.25 compared with its £189.99 RRP.
