When Hollywood arrived in West Yorkshire: A look back at the day Marvel stars took over the city centre, and where you can stream the final series today

It remains one of the most surreal days in recent Leeds history.

Crowds gathered in their hundreds across the city centre, all trying to catch a glimpse of the massive Hollywood production taking over our streets.

The star attraction? None other than Samuel L. Jackson himself.

The iconic actor was spotted on location right here in the city, fully dressed as Marvel’s ultimate spymaster, Nick Fury. He wasn’t alone, either - YEP photographer Jonathan Gawthorpe also snapped ‘Game of Thrones’ superstar Emilia Clarke as the city became the temporary backdrop for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following a filming stint in nearby Halifax the day before.

The production in question was ‘Secret Invasion,’ a tense, six-part thriller exploring a shadow war on Earth.

The storyline follows Fury as he discovers a faction of shapeshifting aliens, the Skrulls, have quietly infiltrated all aspects of life on Earth.

Alongside Jackson, the star-studded cast featured Ben Mendelsohn reprising his role as Talos, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, and Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Christopher McDonald in pivotal roles.
