Amazon’s latest Fire HD 8 Kids tablet has crashed to under £70 in a limited-time deal, giving parents a cheaper way to keep younger children entertained with books, games and videos.

Amazon has slashed the price of its latest Fire HD 8 Kids tablet in a major limited-time deal that cuts the cost from £149.99 down to £69.99.

The deal knocks a huge 53% off the popular children’s tablet, which is designed for kids aged three to seven and comes bundled with a chunky kid-proof protective case, one year of Amazon Kids+ and built-in parental controls.

Amazon says the deal is “selling fast”, with the device currently sitting as the number one bestseller in Kids’ Electric Learning Toys.

According to CamelCamelCamel price tracking data, the current £69.99 price is matching one of the lowest levels seen for the tablet in the past year. The tracker shows the device spending much of the last 12 months priced between roughly £80 and £150, making the current offer one of the more aggressive discounts Amazon has run on the kids’ model.

The newest Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids tablet includes an upgraded 8-inch HD display, 3GB of memory and up to 13 hours of battery life, making it ideal for long car journeys, flights, weekends away or simply surviving the school holidays.

Parents also get access to Amazon’s parental dashboard, allowing them to set screen time limits, approve content and monitor what children are watching or playing on the device.

The tablet comes with a year of Amazon Kids+, which gives access to thousands of ad-free books, games, educational apps and videos aimed at younger children. Amazon says the service includes learning-focused content covering STEM topics, reading and languages.

One of the biggest selling points is Amazon’s two-year “worry-free guarantee”. If the tablet breaks during that period, Amazon says it will replace it free of charge, which could be reassuring for parents handing expensive tech to younger children.

The device also supports expandable storage up to 1TB with a separate microSD card, meaning there’s room for plenty of downloads before family trips or holidays.

While the £69.99 deal applies to the blue version of the Fire HD 8 Kids tablet, some themed variants and accessory bundles remain more expensive.

Amazon Prime members can get free delivery on the deal, although non-members may need to pay extra depending on their order value.
