The four-in-one machine can be used for walking or jogging, although buyers should note several conflicting specifications in the Amazon listing.

A folding treadmill with an adjustable incline has dropped below £80 at Amazon, offering a relatively affordable way to exercise at home when the British weather inevitably refuses to cooperate.

The Rayspace folding treadmill is reduced from a stated previous price of £209.99 to £99.99. Amazon is also displaying a £20 voucher, bringing the price down to £79.99 when it is applied before checkout.

That represents a total saving of £130, or approximately 62%, against the listed previous price. The voucher does not appear to be included automatically, so shoppers should tick the box on the product page and check that the discount appears in the final order summary.

One of the main attractions is the adjustable incline. Raising the walking surface can make a workout feel more demanding and engage the leg muscles differently from exercising on a completely flat machine.

The precise maximum incline needs clarification, however. The Amazon treadmill listing repeatedly describes it as a “15% Tilt Treadmill” and gives a maximum incline of 15% in the specifications, but the product description says it reaches up to 12%.

Buyers interested primarily in incline training should therefore check the latest images and manufacturer information carefully. Either figure would still provide a noticeably steeper workout than a conventional flat walking pad, but it is a meaningful discrepancy.

Rayspace describes the machine as a four-in-one model that can be used as an under-desk walking pad, jogging treadmill, incline trainer or treadmill with a handle. The folding design should also make it easier to reclaim some floor space after exercising.

According to the more detailed description, the Rayspace walking treadmill has an adjustable speed of between 1km/h and 9.7km/h. That range is suited to walking and jogging, although the manufacturer’s suggestion that it could accommodate marathon training feels rather ambitious for a compact home model.

Ignore the 100km/h maximum speed displayed in Amazon’s specification table. This is clearly an erroneous listing entry and contradicts the stated 9.7km/h limit. At 100km/h, storage would be the least of your concerns.

The motor is advertised as producing 3.5HP and operating below 40dB. Elsewhere, Amazon’s specification table gives maximum horsepower as 1HP, creating another inconsistency that buyers may want to query with the seller.

A larger LED display shows workout information including speed, time, distance and estimated calories burned. Users can control the folding home treadmill with the supplied remote or connect it to a compatible fitness app.

App features are advertised as including virtual routes, workout plans, progress tracking and interactive challenges. The name of the app and details of any account, phone compatibility or optional costs are not provided in the supplied information, so these should be checked before buying if connected features matter.

The treadmill is listed as measuring 115cm deep, 128cm wide and 60cm high, although those dimensions also look unusual for this type of machine and may not reflect its usable or folded footprint. It would be sensible to verify the measurements against the diagrams on the product page before deciding where it will live.

Amazon says the Rayspace treadmill can support users weighing more than 350lb, equivalent to around 159kg. Its alloy-steel construction is intended to provide stability, while the built-in handle offers extra support compared with a completely flat walking pad.

The listing currently has an average score of five out of five stars, but that rating is based on only seven reviews. It is a positive early result, although far too small a sample to provide the reassurance of a product with hundreds or thousands of ratings.

At the £79.99 voucher price, this could be an appealing option for walking while working, adding movement to the day or completing a short indoor workout. Buyers should confirm the incline, motor rating, dimensions and warranty with the seller, then make sure the £20 voucher has been deducted before paying.
