A simple packing trick using vacuum storage bags is helping travellers squeeze more into their suitcases – and deals start from just £8

Packing up to go on holiday is meant to be the exciting bit, but it doesn't come without its stresses. Fitting everything in to a suitcase that fits into that all-important baggage allowance can really start to become a challenge.

Even if you like to travel light, suitcases can only hold so much, and we all like to leave some space for holiday souvenirs, don't we?

This is why vacuum storage bags are surging in popularity. You shove your fabrics in, suck the air out, and watch them magically compress down to a fraction of their original size.

We've found some amazingly cheap deals on Amazon, with bundles of bags priced from just £8 - but you need to be quick, because the discounts are due to end on April 20.

Using vacuum bags in a suitcase means you can take a wider variety of clothes, pack in some gear for colder weather, or even squeeze in your own bedding, if you wanted to.

The bags won't save you any weight, you still need to be mindful of weight limits, but they're a fabulous space saver, and ideal for storing things at home, or moving house.

Amazon's current deals start with a small discount on a pack of six large bags, down to £8.07, but the stand-out bargain is a pack of 10 jumbo bags for £14.14, including a free pump. Normally priced at £29.99, that's a 53% saving.

Amazon Prime members get free delivery on eligible items. Non-Prime customers may pay delivery charges depending on the order.
