This retro photo gallery takes a look at Yorkshire’s long love affair with ice cream.
It shows some of the county’s many ice cream makers and popular sellers over the years, from the 90s, through the noughties, to the early 2010s.
People are also pictured enjoying ice creams around Yorkshire, from the beach to the high street, in these nostalgic pictures.
You’d be hard-pushed to find a part of the UK that doesn’t love ice cream, but it could be argued that Yorkshire’s obsession runs particularly deep due to the number of dairy farms dotted around God’s Own County.
These photos take you inside the factories, showing how ice cream is made.
It features family firms with hundreds of years of experience between them, maintaining generations-old traditions.
But it also showcases some of the region’s biggest innovators, seen experimenting with bold flavours, like beer-flavoured ice cream, and even setting a new world record.
Do these photos bring back any happy memories for you, and what is the best ice cream you’ve ever had?
