Lineham Farm on Swan Lane at Eccup has now served the young people of Leeds for more than 40 years. It first opened in May 1993 following a full building and renovation project led by the then Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun Denise Atkinson MBE. Young people visited for a week with their school with income to support the work generated from hiring the centre for events and family weekends. Thousands of youngsters have benefited over the years and that work continues in 2026 with Leeds Children’s Charity spearheading a vision for the future. This gallery of photos, plucked from the Yorkshire Evening Post archive, showcases the smiles, fun and camaraderie as well as the fundraising efforts, cute animals and visits by some familiar faces from the world of sport and television.
