He was captured on camera by a Yorkshire Evening Post snapper at a pub in Hyde Park in the mid-1970s. The photo is one of 16 featured in a gallery of memories charting life around Hyde Park during the decade. It brings into focus landmarks such as the Hyde Park Picture House as well as news stories making the local news headlines during the ten years including a fire at Church of All Hallows with St. Simon. The photos are a mix from the YEP archive and others published courtesy of West Yorkshire Archive Service, which collects and looks after the unique documentary heritage of the region dating from the 12th century to the present day - more than 800 years of local history. It also runs Catablogue, an online blog dedicated to preserving the past, serving the present and protecting the future.
