These fantastic photos showcase life around Morley in the 1980s. The collection was lost to the world until being found in the Yorkshire Evening Post archive and scanned. They feature shopping memories as well as restaurants and pubs around the town which will be remembered by a generation of those who called the town home during the decade. The gallery also features details of new stories which were making the local headlines including a couple who were fighting a smear campaign over the £50,000 asking price for their 20 room mansion - which they bought from Leeds City Council for the knock-down price of £3,000. Foreman mechanic Jack Dixon and his wife Lillian bought Morley Hall - a listed building - for the nominal sum after the council had allowed it to become a vandalised hulk.
