Memories of Leeds to Middleton electric tram service
It is one of the most fondly remembered pieces of local tramway history and survives as a path through a much-loved south Leeds park.
The Middleton Tramway was a former electric tram service in Leeds that ran from the city centre through Middleton Woods to a terminus on the Ring Road.
The Ministry of Transport inspector checked over the new tramway on November 10, 1925.
Two days later the tramway opened without ceremony when the first tram of the day ran to the Middleton Arms from Leeds at 05.15am.

The route was extended to become a circular route through Belle Isle, though less than a decade after the route was completed it was closed on March 28, 1959.
Friends of Middleton Park organised a free guided walk at the weekend to mark the centenary of the route and talk about its history.
The walk was led by Kris Ward of Middleton Railway and Friends of Middleton Park.
