These photos take you back to the 70s, showing how different life was back then.
From street scenes to peeks inside popular shops of the day, they offer a snapshot of Yorkshire as it looked half a century ago.
Shoppers are seen pouring into C&A as the sales begin; microwave ovens are shown on display, long before they were usurped by air fryers as the latest in kitchen technology; and a sales assistant shows off the latest gadget at a much-missed toy shop.
These photos are sure to bring back memories of 70s cars and buses for those who were around then, and there will be lost landmarks you’ll recognise too.
The Wombles; old-style telephone kiosks, when they were the only way to stay in touch while out and about; and a witch’s cradle, which was a mainstay of playgrounds back then, are among the other 70s throwbacks on display.
Even those whose memories don’t stretch that far back will see how much streets around Yorkshire have changed since the 70s.
Do these nostalgic photos bring back any memories for you of the 70s, and what do you think of how life has changed since then?
