Local GP launches her own activewear brand to empower women and support communities in Leeds
Local NHS doctor Amreen Rahim has launched her own brand new range of activewear to build women’s confidence and support communities across Leeds.
After years of balancing a demanding career in the NHS with family life, Amreen Rahim launched Avancé Active, a Leeds-based activewear brand created for women who are constantly on the move.
The local GP has launched Avancé Active to combine style with body confidence and real life functionality.
Created for women who do it all, the collection is designed to take you seamlessly from busy mornings and work commitments to workouts, social plans and everyday life.
Amreen, aged 35, explains: “For years, fitness has been my way of looking after myself. Like many women, I was juggling a career, family responsibilities, personal goals and trying to make time for my own wellbeing. The gym wasn't just about exercise, it was a space where I could reset and invest in myself.
Over time, I realised there was a gap in the market for a brand that truly represented women like us. Women who are ambitious, busy, driven and constantly balancing multiple roles. Women who do it all. I wanted to create activewear that felt premium, performed well, but also stood for something bigger than just clothing.
The name of the new business, Avancé, means ‘to move forward’ and that's what the brand is all about – continuing to progress even when life is busy.
Rooted in the local community, Amreen wants Avancé Active to empower women. She is already planning new activewear collections to suit modest communities as well as petite women like herself.
She has started by supporting local charity Getaway Girls, which helps girls and young women aged 11 to 25 years learn new life skills.

After a launch at the Dakota Hotel in Leeds, the Avancé Active online shop is now open with the first collection of premium quality activewear.
The Leeds-born brand's first collection includes a carefully curated range of activewear and accessories, featuring leggings, performance tops, sports bras and everyday essentials in classic black and deep burgundy.
Created for women balancing busy lives, the collection features supportive waistbands, premium fabrics and thoughtfully designed silhouettes that deliver comfort, confidence and performance from morning to evening.
Pop-ups are planned at Victoria Gate, Leeds (outside John Lewis) on:
· Saturday 20th June
· Sunday 28th June
