Opening May: Bagaara restaurants bring authentic & premium South Indian dining to new Leeds branch

A much-loved Leeds restaurant is opening a new fine dining branch in Roundhay – with a function room and outdoor seating perfect for summer.
Bagaara’s new sister venue Bagaara Utsav is set to open in early May.
It will bring the same high standards of mouth-watering South Indian cooking but this time, it’s combined with a fine dining setting – thanks to executive consultant chef Amardeep Singh Anand who has been carefully curating the menu.
And the Bagaara team – the official community sponsors of Leeds Rhinos – are looking forward to showing Leeds diners what they can do.

Experience the delicious tastes of South India like never before
The original Bagaara bar and restaurant at Stocks Hill has earned a loyal following for its incredible flavours and fun atmosphere. And now its owners are delighted to be branching out with a new eatery near Roundhay Park – Bagaara Utsav.
The name “Utsav,” derived from Sanskrit, translates to “celebration” –perfectly capturing the essence of the new restaurant. While Bagaara has become known for its bold flavours and vibrant atmosphere, Bagaara Utsav takes this further, offering a more elevated experience that celebrates the richness of Indian cuisine in a refined setting.
Fans of their food can expect tasty and authentic South Indian cuisine along with Robata Charcoal Grill. Consultant chef Amardeep Singh Anand, also known as Chef Amar, has brought incredible new dishes to the menu, including Sea Bass Moilee, Robata Grilling & Some fusion desserts.
Chef Amar brings over 25 years of international culinary experience across fine dining, luxury hospitality including serving the royals and senior government officials. Having worked on prestigious global projects and appeared on BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals, and as a guest celebrity on MasterChef Türkiye, he has played a key role in shaping the concept, menu, and training behind Bagaara Utsav.
Co-founder Rashmith Reddy highlights the attention to detail that defines the new restaurant. From carefully sourced ingredients to traditional cooking techniques, every element has been designed to deliver depth of flavour and authenticity.
Specialist cooking equipment has even been sourced from India to ensure dishes achieve the perfect texture and finish, while the Robata charcoal grill adds a distinctive smoky character.
“This restaurant is a premium evolution of what we’ve built with Bagaara,” he explains. “With Chef Amar’s guidance, we’re bringing something truly unique to Leeds.”
