De Bock undergoing medical at Leeds United

Laurens De Bock is undergoing a medical with Leeds United today with the club working to finalise the terms of his transfer from Club Brugge.

De Bock travelled to England from Brugge’s winter training camp in Spain last night and is being put through medical checks by Leeds ahead of a move to the Championship.

Leeds identified the former Belgium Under-21 international as a solution to weakness on the left side of their defence, an area which head coach Thomas Christiansen has struggled to address since Charlie Taylor quit Elland Road for Burnley in July.

De Bock, who won the Belgian top-flight title with Club Brugge in 2016, has a deal at Brugge until 2020 but the 25-year-old was looking to move elsewhere in this transfer window after losing his place in their starting line-up.

Leeds are ready to offer him a long-term deal and have been negotiating with Brugge for the past week. De Bock and his agent arrived in Leeds yesterday with the aim of concluding discussions before United travel to Ipswich Town this weekend.
