Leeds tipped for tight relegation scrap as AI predicts Premier League table

We've asked AI to predict where Leeds United will finish in the Premier League this season.

Leeds United remain outside the Premier League bottom three as we move through the final international break of 2025, but recent form has given them plenty of cause for concern.

A 2-1 win at home to West Ham in late October was a massive result, but it only came slap in the middle of four defeats. That run has seen Daniel Farke’s men sink to 16th, just one point above the relegation zone.

Things certainly don’t get any easier for the Whites when the Premier League returns, with home games against Aston Villa, Chelsea and Liverpool to come, alongside a trip to Manchester City.

The table could look very ugly for United by the time that run concludes, and that got us wondering where AI thinks Leeds will finish in the Premier League this season.

Will they stay up, or will they suffer an immediate relegation back to the Championship? We’ve asked X’s AI chatbot, Grok, for all the answers.

AI predicts a narrow escape for Leeds United

Grok on Leeds: “Leeds are clinging to 16th with just 11 points from 11 games, and the underlying numbers are brutal: 20 goals conceded and an xGA firmly in the relegation zone. Goalkeeping has been a revolving door – Lucas Perri has been first choice when fit, with veteran Karl Darlow stepping in during his absences. Up front, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has squandered a huge number of big chances, while the attack has felt blunt since Largie Ramazani’s departure. The run-in is unforgiving: Chelsea and Liverpool back-to-back in December, then a murderous January of Liverpool again, Newcastle, and Arsenal. The 49ers will back Farke with targeted loans (centre-back, holding midfielder, and maybe a striker), but nothing transformative. AI still sees Leeds scrambling to 39 points – grinding out draws and snatching vital wins against the bottom six. Survival by the skin of their teeth, Leeds-style: absolute carnage, but somehow still Premier League next season. Barely.

Grok on the rest of the predicted Premier League table: “Arsenal (84 pts) hold off Manchester City (81) in a tense title race built on defensive solidity and Saka-Gyokeres firepower. Liverpool (78) secure third, with their revamped attack now revolving around summer blockbuster Alexander Isak as the focal point, superbly supported by Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and the emerging generation. Chelsea (73) lock down fourth, Todd Boehly’s endless spending finally delivering consistency.

“The Europa League scrap goes down to the wire: Tottenham (70) edge Newcastle (68) and a resurgent Manchester United (66), whose January additions fall just short. Aston Villa slip to eighth as fixture congestion bites.

“At the bottom, Wolves are already cut adrift on 29 points. Nottingham Forest and Burnley join them in the drop, while Leeds survive by a whisker. Sunderland’s fairy-tale fades to a safe 13th—proof that momentum alone can’t outrun squad depth over 38 games.”
