Leeds United slipped closer to the dropzone through a 2-0 defeat at Burnley - leading to changes in the bookies’ odds in their new predicted final Premier League table.
Saturday’s first game back after the October international break offered Leeds the chance to kick seven points clear of fellow top-flight new boys Burnley who instead now sit just one point behind Daniel Farke’s Whites.
The Whites began the day in 15th place and still sit in the same position but a point closer to the relegation zone after Burnley jumped out of it and up to 17th place through their 2-0 success.
Nottingham Forest are now the first team below the dreaded dotted line following a 3-0 defeat at home to Chelsea which cost boss Ange Postecoglou his job. Leeds are three points ahead of third-bottom Forest but second bottom West Ham now have the chance to escape the bottom three with a victory from Monday night’s hosting of fifth-bottom Brentford.
The second-bottom Hammers are four points behind Leeds with a game in hand whereas Brentford are just one point behind the Whites on a game less as part of a bottom six in which Wolves are marooned at the bottom.
Wolves aside, it’s all got a fair bit closer and it’s led to a Leeds change in their new predicted final table based on title odds. Here, in reverse order, is the full new rundown.
