Chris Sutton backs 'phenomenal' Leeds United to cause upset in huge FA Cup clash against Arsenal

Leeds United will relish the opportunity to challenge themselves against Premier League side Arsenal in their third round FA Cup tie next month.

Marcelo Bielsa's side are in fine form, and ex-Celtic man Chris Sutton has teased that Leeds United could shock the Gunners in the mouthwatering clash.

The two sides last met in the same competition in 2012, when Thierry Henry settled the tie with a goal on his second debut for the North London club.

Leeds earned a replay when the teams met in 2011, only missing out on a victory when Arsenal scored from a dubious last-minute penalty earned by Theo Walcott.

Bielsa and Leeds will be confident of causing Arsenal problems, and Sutton agrees, even suggesting that Leeds United would win the match if it were played this week.

Speaking about the clash on BBC Radio 5Live, he said: "I think Arsenal against Leeds is fascinating.

"If it was to be played this week, I would actually fancy Leeds to beat Arsenal.

"They (Leeds) are in phenomenal form. Arsenal look same old Arsenal, decidedly shaky at the back, and that’s a huge game."
