Leeds United’s return to Premier League action at champions Arsenal ultimately ended in a 2-1 defeat - but how did we rate the performances?
Arsenal began brightly but without really creating any good chances and it was actually Daniel Farke’s Whites who had the best chance in a goalless first half, Gunners keeper David Raya producing a particularly good save to keep out a firm drive from Gabi Gudmundsson from an acute angle at the left hand post.
Leeds continued to threaten after the break and it was therefor no real surprise when James Justin fired them ahead with a brilliant finish to a Gabi Gudmundsson cross.
The lead though did not last long, United’s defensive hard work undone as Ricardo Calafiori got himself free to convert after Ben White had nodded a Noni Madueke cross back across goal.
The momentum was changing and Arsenal then went ahead as a flowing team move was finished off by a thumping finish from substitute Bruno Guimaraes.
Leeds United writer Lee Sobot hands out the scores.

7. Ao Tanaka
7 - Probably United's best player in the first half, buzzing about everywhere, booked but made a huge challenge to thwart an Arsenal counter. A very good display all round and his booking led to him being subbed. | AFP via Getty Images

8. Ethan Ampadu
6 - Actually pretty quiet by his standards but a looping header almost caught Raya out but gradually given the runaround in midfield. | Getty Images

9. Anton Stach
6 - Much better than of late and might have scored had his shot not been blocked by Bogle. Not quite as good after the break. | Getty Images

10. Noah Okafor
6 - Looked bright as a button in the warm up and that proved the case in the game itself although did overcook a cross which ended a threatening attack but faded after the break. | AFP via Getty Images

11. Dominic Calvert-Lewin
7 - A really good display leading the line, giving Arsenal's defence no peace and with some lovely turns and lay offs. Sharp. | Getty Images

12. Harry Wilson (sub)
5 - On from the bench as Leeds chased the game but unable to get involved. | Getty Images
